## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11-9-2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 15:00 LOCAL PIC ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS LANDING UPON THE RAMADA HELIPADS LOCATED AT THE BASE OF THE GRAND CANYON ADJACENT TO THE GRAND CANYON WEST AIRPORT. UPON COMING TO A HOVER OVER THE LANDING AREA, PIC MANEUVERED THE HELICOPTER IN ORDER TO LAND SLIGHTLY ALONG THE RIVER SIDE. WHILE HOVER/MANEUVERING, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A TAILROTOR STRIKE WITH A CACTUS BUSH. PIC SET THE AIRCRAFT DOWN, PERFORMED A SHUT DOWN AND EXAMINED THE TAILROTOR FOR DAMAGE. PIC STATED THAT SHE ONLY NOTICED SMALL SCRATCHES ON THE OUTSIDE SURFACE OF THE BLADES. PIC THEN STARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND FLEW IT BACK TO LAS VEGAS. AT NO TIME DID THE PIC NOTICE ANY VIBRATION OR RESISTANCE ON THE TAIL ROTOR PEDALS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
