## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER LANDING HE ENTERED, WHAT HE BELIEVED, WAS A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED TAXIWAY. AS HE TAXIED FURTHER ALONG HE SOON SAW THAT THE TAXIWAY ENDED AND THERE WAS ONLY DIRT AND ROCKS. HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT 180 DEGREES BUT THE NOSE WHEEL DEPARTED THE TAXIWAY SURFACE. AS A RESULT OF THE SOFT DIRT BEING SATURATED FROM A PREVIOUS RAIN, THE NOSE WHEEL SANK INTO THE MUD AND THE PROP STRUCK THE GROUND, INCLUDING THE MUD AND ROCKS. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. HE STATED THAT THE PROPELLER BLADE TIPS WERE NICKED UP AND BENT. HE HAD THE AIRCRAFT TOWED BACK TO THE HANGAR. THE INCIDENT WAS REPORTED BY THE ASSOCIATED 145 REPAIR STATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
