## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AMERICAN EAGLE AIRLINES [SIMA] FLIGHT #2704 DFW-MSN WAS PARKED AT THE MSN TERMINAL GATE WITH THE MAIN ENGINES SHUT DOWN AND THE WHEEL CHOCKS/BRAKES SET WHEN A FEMALE PAX WITH A BRACED RIGHT ANKLE ATTEMPTED TO STAND UP IN THE AIRCRAFT AISLE TO DEPLANE. WHEN THE PAX ATTEMPTED TO PUT WEIGHT ON THE BRACED ANKLE SHE COLLAPSED IN THE AISLE HAVING BROKEN HER ANKLE(S). FIRST AID WAS RENDERED BY EMS. PAX WAS TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL. AIRLINE PERSONNEL OFFERED THE PAX FULL ASSISTANCE IN DEPLANING THE AIRCRAFT AND HAD GIVEN THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAX TO REMAIN SEATED UNTIL ASSISTED PRIOR TO THE PAX ATTEMPTING TO RISE AND DEPLANE ON HER OWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11LA092](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11LA092), Nov 23, 2010: Embraer EMB-145LR (N678AE), Madison, WI, no damage. Probable cause: The passenger's decision to deplane without assistance despite having a preexisting condition that limited her mobility.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
