## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS PRACTICING LANDINGS AT IXD. DURING THE APPROACH FOR THE FOURTH LANDING, THE LANDING GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN AND HE HEARD A "BIG POP". BOTH THE PILOT AND THE INSTRUCTOR CONFIRMED A SAFE GEAR INDICATION BY THE GREEN "GEAR-DOWN LIGHT" AND CONTINUED TO LAND. ON LANDING, THE PILOT REPORTS TOUCHING DOWN ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR FIRST DUE TO A SLIGHT CROSS WIND. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LEVELED OFF, THEY REALIZED THAT THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. THE RIGHT WING SETTLED TO THE SURFACE AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT, COMING TO A STOP IN THE GRASS WITH ONLY THE NOSE GEAR AND LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR EXTENDED. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR NEVER EXTENDED OR MOVED FROM THE "RETRACTED POSITION".

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
