## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12/16/2010 A DEICE TRUCK STRUCK THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE NOSE COWL RESULTING IN THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE: APPROXIMATE ONE INCH DIAMETER HOLE AT THE TWO TO THREE O'CLOCK POSITION OF THE INLET AND A HALF INCH WIDE GOUGE THAT RAN THE FULL LENGTH OF THE COWL FROM BEHIND THE INLET TO WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE ENGINE. DAMAGE WAS BEYOND LIMITS OF THE MAINTENANCE AND STRUCTURAL REPAIR MANUALS.MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE NOSE COWL. THE ENGINE AND PYLON WERE INSPECTED WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
