## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRPORT MANAGER AT PLATINUM STATED THE PILOT FLEW OVER HEAD, AND THEN LANDED ON THE CLOSED RUNWAY. AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT HIT A SNOW BERM AND WENT OFF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC11LA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC11LA008), Jan 4, 2011: Piper PA-32-300 (N9304K), Platinum, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misidentification of the airport's active runway, resulting in an off-runway landing and collision with a ditch/berm.

## Other reports on N9304K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19820408008479A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820408008479A), Apr 8, 1982: Piper PA32300 (N9304K), Akiachak, AK, Substantial damage. Unable to obtain liftoff speed on rough soft runway, aborted takeoff, ran off end of runway. Broke thru river ice.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
