As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE PRACTICING TOUCH & GO'S AT KPMP, THE PILOT WAS ON HER SECOND TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 10. SHE HAD REACHED AN ALTITUDE OF APPROXIMATELY 100' MSL WHEN THE ENGINE LOST POWER. SHE TURNED THE AIRCRAFT 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY HEADING IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A GRASS AREA ON AIRPORT PROPERTY. NO INJURIES TO PIC, 0-PAX. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE IS SUBSTANTIAL. NO OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGES. NO PILOT ERROR IS APPARENT.AN EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE AND SUCCESSFUL TEST RUN FAILED TO REVEAL ANY AIRWORTHINESS DISCREPANCIES. THE REASON FOR THE POWER FAILURE IS UNKNOWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
