## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JAN 16, 2011 AT 0945AM PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW HIS STINSON N8883K FROM CAK (AKRON-CANTON OH.) TO I19 GREENE COUNTY OHIO. HE STARTED HIS DESCENT INTO I19 AND THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. THE WX WAS VFR AT THE TIME. THE ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE INTO A CORN FIELD APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT. NO INJURIES REPORTED AND NO DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT. OBSERVATION OF POWERPLANT CONCLUDED A LARGE CRACK IN ENGINE BLOCK RESULTING IN POWER LOSS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
