## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING UNDER IFR FLIGHT RULES FROM CID TO THE MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, MAQUOKETA, IA (OQW). THEY WERE CLEARED FOR THE GPS 15 APPROACH BY CHICAGO CENTER. AND ACQUIRED THE AIRPORT AND RUNWAY ENVIRONMENT ABOUT 1.5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT AT THE MDA. THE PILOT STATED HE INTERCEPTED THE PAPI GLIDEPATH AND FLEW TO A NORMAL TOUCHDOWN. THEN, AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE RUNWAY LIGHTS WERE OBSCURED FROM VISION BY WINDROWS OF SNOW, BETWEEN THE RUNWAY EDGES AND THE RUNWAY LIGHTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RUNWAY. BECAUSE OF THE SNOW COVER AND THE LIGHT FALLING SNOW, THE PILOT LOST VISUAL CUES, EXCEPT THE RUNWAY END LIGHTS, WHICH WERE ALSO PARTIALLY OBSCURED. THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT MAIN GEAR CONTACTED A TWO FOOT TALL SNOW WINDROW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY SURFACE TEN TO FIFTEEN FEET FROM THE RUNWAY EDGE. THIS SLEWED THE AIRPLANE TO THE LEFT AND OFF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 70 DEGREES FROM THE RUNWAY HEADING AND THE MAIN GEAR ABOUT 10 FEET FROM THE PLOWED SURFACE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
