## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT MADE A LANDING ON FLOATS DUE TO A LANDING GEAR MALFUNCTION. PILOT LANDED AIRCRAFT SUCCESSFULLY AND VEERED AIRCRAFT OFF INTO THE GRASS TO LEAVE RUNWAY UN-OBSTRUCTED. AIRCRAFT WAS JACKED IN THE GRASS AND LEFT MAIN GEAR WAS EXTENDED. PILOT WAS AUTHORIZED BY TOWER TO TAXI TO MAINTENANCE HANGAR FOR REPAIRS. NO DAMAGE TO RUNWAY OR EQUIPMENT. PERSONNEL PERFORMED GEAR RETRACTION TEST AND INSPECTIONS. FOUND THE LEFT HAND MAIN UPLOCK WAS BINDING AND PARTIALLY RELEASING. THE UPLOCK WAS DISASSEMBLED AND CLEANED, INSPECTED GREASED, REASSEMBLED AND REINSTALLED. GEAR WAS SWUNG SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO DISCREPANCIES AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE AFTER FLOATS WEAR STRIPS WERE REPLACED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
