## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 21, 2011, AT 0800 CST, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, OPERATING A RANS S-19 ENROUTE TO PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS, LOST BRAKE PRESSURE WHILE TAXIING FOR DEPARTURE ON RUNWAY 34.ACCORDING TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AFTER LOSING BRAKE PRESSURE, SHE WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE AIRCRAFT AND TAXIED OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE NOSE LANDING GEAR, LEFT WINGTIP, RIGHT SIDE OF THE TAIL CONE, AND A SMALL DENT UNDERNEATH THE LEFT WING, THAT APPEARS TO BE DAMAGED FROM A RUNWAY LIGHT. ON JANUARY 25, 2011, ASI RAGIN CONTACTED THE GENERAL MANAGER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, FOR RANS AIRCRAFT INC, AND DISCUSSED THE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED. MR. FRIZELL EXPLAINED TO ASI RAGIN THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAS A DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING SYSTEM, WHICH REQUIRES BRAKE ACTUATION TO STEER THE AIRCRAFT.MR. FRIZELL ALSO STATED THE PILOT OVER TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT, WHICH THEN HEATED THE BRAKES AND MELTED THE BRAKE LINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
