## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TAKE OFF ROLL FOR TAKEOFF FROM THE REDDING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, CA ON 1/22/2011. AT APPROXIMATELY 40 KTS, THE PILOT FELT THE AIRCRAFT SETTLE TO THE RUNWAY SURFACE AND BOTH PROPELLERS STRUCK THE GROUND. THE LANDING GEAR STARTED TO RETRACT ON ITS OWN. INSPECTED AIRCRAFT, FOUND THAT BOTH ENGINE PROPELLERS STRUCK THE RUNWAY DURING THE INCIDENT. BASED ON THE TIP CURL OF THE PROPELLER BLADES, IT APPEARED THAT THE BLADES STRUCK THE RUNWAY AT HIGH POWER. THE #2 PROPELLER LIBERATED A SMALL SECTION OF ONE BLADE AND THE MATERIAL STRUCK THE AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE SKIN AT THE 6 O'CLOCK POSITION IN LINE WITH THE PROPELLER ROTATIONAL PLANE. THE MATERIAL CONTINUED ON A PATH TO IMPACT THE #1 ENGINE EXHAUST STACKS. MINOR DAMAGE WAS NOTED ON THE # 1 ENGINE COWLING. BOTH ENGINE FIREWALLS WERE FOUND TO BE IN TACT. NO DAMAGE TO ENGINE MOUNTS NOTED. THE MAINTENANCE LOGS WERE REVIEWED AND THERE HAD BEEN NO MAINTENANCE RECORDED FOR THE LANDING GEAR OR RELATED SYSTEMS IN RECENT MONTHS. THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF ANY SUCH RECENT MAINTENANCE. THE PILOT'S MEDICAL, PILOT CERTIFICATE, LOG BOOK, REGISTRATION, AND AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE WERE INSPECTED. NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
