## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STATEMENT RECEIVED FROM PILOT STATES HE MADE AN UNINTENTIONAL WIDE TURN AND FELT HE MISJUDGED THE TURN AND SHOULD HAVE STARTED TURN EARLIER WHEN CLEARED TO TAXI. STATES IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER OUTCOME IF HE WOULD HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AIRCRAFT STRUCK RUNWAY SIGN AND CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO RIGHT WING AND TO RIGHT AILERON. WILL REQUIRE MAJOR REPAIR AS PER 14 CFR PART 43.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA131](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA131), Jan 29, 2011: Piper PA-28-161 (N9127F), Atlanta, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's wrong turn while taxiing resulting in a collision with a sign.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
