## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PINNACLE FLIGHT SAFETY REPORT FILED BY THE CAPTAIN, DATED FEBRUARY 10, 2011, THE MORNING OF 07 FEBRUARY 2011, PINNACLE AIRLINES FLT 4082 EXECUTED AN APPROACH INTO BUFFALO, NY, WITH KNOWN ICING CONDITIONS. APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, THE RIGHT WING DROPPED SHARPLY, FOLLOWED THEN BY A SECOND WING DROP, ALLOWING THE RIGHT TIRE TO CONTACT THE RUNWAY. THROUGHOUT THE APPROACH, ALL ANTI-ICE SYSTEMS REPORTED AS "GREEN." AFTER A LENGTHY TAXI, THE FLIGHT CREW FOUND 1/2-1/4 INCH OF ICE BUILD UP ALONG 2/3 OF THE LEADING EDGE OF THE INBOARD PORTION OF THE WING DURING THEIR POST FLIGHT INSPECTION. AFTER ARRIVING ON SITE, PINNACLE'S MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DISCOVERED THE RIGHT WING'S ICE ON THE GROUND. NO OTHER SIGNIFICANT EVENTS (I.E. STRUCTURAL DAMAGE OR WING STRIKE) WERE REPORTED BY EITHER THE FLIGHT CREW OR MAINTENANCE AT THAT TIME. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING THE SYSTEM, THE COMPANY MAINTENANCE TEAM DEFERRED THE WING ANTI-ICE 'NORMAL MODE' PER MEL 30-12-31 AND RELEASED THE AIRCRAFT FOR SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
