## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FINAL APPROACH TO N07 RUNWAY 01 THE ENGINE QUIT AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED OFF OF THE AIRPORT. EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE GASALATOR FOUND A LARGE AMOUNT OF ICE TO BE PRESENT. THE NTSB HAD THE ENGINE SENT TO TELEDYNE CONTINENTAL FOR INSPECTION. THE AIRFRAME WAS DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF THE EMERGENCY LANDING. THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERTURE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WAS 20 DEGREES F. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON A 14 CFR PART 091, FLIGHT FROM KMMU TO NO7. THE FLAP ACTUATOR WAS SET AT ZERO DEGREES FLAP AND THE PRIMER WAS OUT. THE FUEL SELECTOR WAS ON THE R/H FUEL TANK. DUE TO THE PILOT'S INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO INTERVIEW HIM. HIS PILOT LOGBOOK HAS NOT BEEN RECOVERED AS OF THIS DATE. AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PILOT WILL TAKE PLACE AS SOON AS HE IS ABLE TO DO SO.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11LA139](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11LA139), Feb 10, 2011: Cessna 182P (N25HD), Lincoln Park, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate preflight inspection (removal of water contamination from the fuel system), which resulted in a total loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
