## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A VIDEO OF THE ACCIDENT SHOWS THAT THE PILOT MADE A LOW LEVEL PASS OUT OVER A RIDGE. AIRCRAFT POWER WAS INCREASED AND THE AIRCRAFT GAINED SOME ALTITUDE AS IT APPROACHED THE RIDGE. THE PILOT INITIATED A TIGHT RIGHT HAND TURN. THE TIGHT RIGHT HAND TURN CONTRIBUTED TO A PRONOUNCED LOSS OF LIFT AND THE PENDULUM EFFECT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO CONTINUE THE RIGHT HAND SPIRAL PAST THE INTENDED FLIGHT PATH. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE SLOPE, IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE, NOSE WHEEL FIRST, PRIOR TO RECOVERY FROM THE TURN.WITNESSES SAY THE PILOT MADE THIS SIMILAR MANEUVER AT LEAST TWO TIMES PRIOR, REVERSING COURSE AND COMING BACK OVER HIS ORIGINAL FLIGHT PATH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11LA133](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11LA133), Feb 13, 2011: Buckeye Breeze LX (N75752), Bullfrog, UT, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of control while maneuvering to land at an off-airport site.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
