## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT AT 800 FT. CRUISE FROM Z13 TO TLT WITH 600 LBS FREIGHT AND 240 LBS. FUEL. FOUR MILES FROM VILLAGE LANDING, PILOT HEARD A COUPLE LOUD KNOCKS FOLLOWED WITH ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. PILOT TURNED TOWARD THE FROZEN RIVER AND SELECTED THE ENGINE MIXTURE TO RICH. SWITCHING THE FUEL TANK SELECTORS STILL DID NOT SOLVE THE ENGINE PROBLEM. ABOUT 15 SECONDS LATER THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PILOT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND LANDED SAFELY ON THE RIVER WITH NO AIRCRAFT DAMAGE ABOUT 3 MILES BELOW TLT AIRPORT. THE PILOT AND CARGO WERE PICKED UP BY A TRUCK FROM THE VILLAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
