## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 19TH, JET BLUE FLIGHT 48 FROM JFK TO BTV ENCOUNTERED A SHORT BURST OF MODERATE TURBULENCE, APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT AT 6000 FT. AFTER LANDING AT THE GATE, THE CAPTAIN WAS ADVISED THAT 2 FLIGHT ATTENDANTS HAD SUFFERED INJURIES, ONE MINOR AND ONE SERIOUS. THE MINOR INJURY WAS A BRUISED TAILBONE AND THE SERIOUS INJURY WAS TWO FRACTURED RIBS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA152](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA152), Feb 19, 2011: Airbus A320-232 (N706JB), North Fayston, VT, no damage. Probable cause: The airplane's inadvertent encounter with turbulence during the approach, which resulted in serious injury to a flight attendant.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
