## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 6 MARCH, 2011 AT APPROXIMATELY 1800 PST LOCAL TIME, N415ST, A CESSNA 414 WAS BEING TAXIED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, THE SOLE OCCUPANT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD JUST RETURNED FROM A FLIGHT AND THE AFTER LANDING CHECK LIST WAS COMPLETED. THE PILOT THOUGHT HIS TAXI SPEED WAS TOO HIGH AND RETARDED THE THROTTLES TO SLOW DOWN WHEN THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER TOWARDS THE RIGHT. THE PILOT THEN APPLIED BOTH BRAKES AND SLIGHT LEFT NOSE WHEEL STEERING WITH THE RUDDER PEDALS. THE RIGHT TURN OF THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED, EVEN WITH INCREASED LEFT STEERING AND INCREASED BRAKING APPLIED. COLLISION WITH THE HANGAR WAS OBVIOUS. THE PILOT THEN PULLED THE MIXTURES AND THE PROPELLER CONTROLS IN FEATHER DETENT. THE RIGHT WING TIP SHATTERED THE FRONT OFFICE WINDOW, THE RIGHT WING LEADING EDGE ASSAULTED THE SODA MACHINE AND THE NOSE (RADOME) OF THE AIRCRAFT DAMAGED THE HANGAR DOOR. THE ENGINES OF THE AIRCRAFT WERE NOT TURNING AND WERE NOT INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT. A NOTE TO MENTION IS THAT THE LEFT PROPELLER WAS IN FEATHER BUT THE RIGHT PROPELLER WAS IN THE IDLE POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
