## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 14, 2011 THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OF N9341X, AN AMPHIBIOUS CESSNA 182R, WAS CONDUCTING LEFT CLOSED TRAFFIC TO RUNWAY 31 AT THE FITCHBURG MUNICIPAL AIRPORT IN FITCHBURG, MASSACHUSETTS. WHILE CONDUCTING LEFT CLOSED TRAFFIC TO RUNWAY 31 THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FAILED TO COMPLETE A BEFORE LANDING CHECK WHICH WOULD HAVE ENSURED THE LANDING GEAR WAS IN THE PROPER POSITION. THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ALSO STATED DURING HIS INTERVIEW THAT HE HAD PRESSED THE LANDING GEAR AUDIO INHIBIT BUTTON THUS STOPPING ALL AUDIO WARNINGS OF GEAR POSITION. THE FAILURE TO CONDUCT A BEFORE LANDING CHECK AND INHIBITING THE LANDING GEAR AUDIO RESULTED IN A GEAR UP LANDING ON RUNWAY 31.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
