## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPS FLIGHT 797, AN AIRBUS A300 ENROUTE FROM EL PASO, TEXAS TO ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO STRUCK THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 26 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT ALBUQUERQUE. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA11FA035](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA11FA035), Mar 23, 2011: Airbus F4-622R (N173UP), Albuquerque, NM, substantial damage. Probable cause: The captain's failure to control the airplane pitch-up induced by ground spoiler deployment during the go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
