As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FINAL APPROACH SPEED AND ALTITUDE WERE NORMAL. TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL, POWER IDLE, HELD NOSE OFF DURING DECELERATION. ONCE THE NOSEWHEEL TOUCHED DOWN THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND BOUNCED. UPON SECOND TOUCHDOWN THE LEFT MAIN GEAR LEFT THE RUNWAY PAVEMENT AND AIRCRAFT HEADED FOR THE WATER TO THE LEFT. AIRPLANE STRUCK CONCRETE WATER EDGE WALL. LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS DEPARTED THE AIRPLANE, RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR CAUGHT THE EMBANKMENT WALL AND AIRPLANE NOSE CAME TO REST UNDER APPROXIMATELY 8 FEET OF WATER. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA212](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA212), Mar 25, 2011: Mooney M20J (N201ZZ), St. Petersburg, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during a crosswind landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
