## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 3/30/2011, PINNACLE AIRLINES FLIGHT 4067 (AIRCRAFT N8505Q), HAD A "GEAR BAY OVERHEAT" MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE EICAS. THE CREW RAN THE QRH AND CONTINUED TO DTW, WHERE MAINTENANCE MET THE AIRCRAFT. IN THE COURSE OF TROUBLESHOOTING, THE "GEAR OVERHEAT MESSAGE", DTW MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THAT THE RH MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL BIN WAS MISSING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11IA264](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11IA264), Mar 30, 2011: Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (N8505Q), Detroit, MI, incident, no damage. Probable cause: The mechanic's incomplete securing of all the wheel well bin's fasteners, which resulted in separation of the bin from the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
