## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT STRUCK TOP OF PROPANE TRUCK WHILE CROSSING A ROAD AND FLYING UNDER WIRES IN CONJUNCTION WITH SPRAYING A FIELD THAT WAS CROSSED BY SAID ROAD/WIRES. THE PILOT DID NOT SEE THE PROPANE TRUCK UNTIL THE LAST SECOND AND WAS UNABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT LANDING GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE COLLISION. THE PILOT RETURNED TO HIS LANDING STRIP, LANDED HARD, AND WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS DURING THE LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11LA179](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11LA179), Apr 1, 2011: Eagle DW1 (N8812A), Newman, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate visual lookout and failure to maintain clearance from a vehicle during a low-altitude operation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
