## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT APPROACHED RUNWAY 4 AT SEAMANS AIRPORT BUT WENT AROUND BECAUSE OF WIND. ON SECOND ATTEMPT HE CAME IN TOO HIGH AND LOWERED THE NOSE TO DIVE AT THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE RUNWAY VERY HARD CAUSING IT TO BOUNCE INTO THE AIR AND THEN HIT THE RUNWAY AGAIN. THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED AS IT RAN OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE MUD, STRIKING THE RIGHT WING. THE NOSE GEAR WAS DAMAGED AND THE TAIL WAS DAMAGED AS IT HIT THE GROUND. THE RIGHT WING AND FUSELAGE HAD DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA227](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA227), Apr 2, 2011: Cessna 150A (N7225X), Factoryville, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate flare during the gusty crosswind landing, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
