## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT WAS FOLLOWING ANOTHER SIMILAR MAKE AND MODEL AIRCRAFT ON A FLIGHT FROM FNL TO 46U. PILOT OF TRAIL AIRCRAFT REPORTED TO LEAD AIRCRAFT THAT TRAIL AIRCRAFT WAS, "ON THE EDGE OF A STALL". NO FURTHER TRANSMITIONS REPORTED. RELIABLE EYE WITNESSES REPORTED SEEING THE AIRCRAFT WOBBLE IN FLIGHT THEN TURN NOSE DOWN AND IMPACT TERRAIN STRAIGHT DOWN FROM APPROXIMATELY 500-700 FEET AGL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11FA188](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11FA188), Apr 6, 2011: Aviat A-1C-180 (N28WY), Laramie, WY, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control and to recover from an aerodynamic stall, which resulted in a spin.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
