## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE SOLO-INSTRUCTION STUDENT PILOT LANDED ON RUNWAY 11R AND WAS TAXIING BACK TO THE SCHOOL RAMP, WHEN THE ENGINE REPORTEDLY STARTED TO IDLE ROUGH AND SHUT DOWN AS THE AIRPLANE TURNED ONTO TAXIWAY A.THE STUDENT REPORTED THAT SHE MADE TWO UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE. SHE SUBSEQUENTLY OBSERVED SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE AREA, AS SHE CONTACTED SCHOOL DISPATCH FOR ASSISTANCE. SHE THEN EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AFTER ENSURING THE MIXTURE WAS IN THE IDLE CUTOFF POSITION.THE ACFT ENGINE AND ENGINE COWL SUSTAINED FIRE DAMAGE BEFORE THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY GROUND PERSONNEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
