## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ARLINGTON, TX, ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT TO FORT WORTH SPINKS AIRPORT (KFWS) FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAKEOFF AND LANDING PRACTICE. ON BOARD WERE AN INSTRUCTOR (PIC) AND STUDENT. THE AIRCRAFT COMPLETED SEVERAL TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT THE KFWS AIRPORT. ON THE LAST LANDING, THE STUDENT ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO BOUNCE AND DID NOT INITIATE A RECOVERY. THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK OVER CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP TO AN EXCESSIVE PITCH ATTITUDE. THE LEFT WING DROPPED AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ONCE MORE, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, AND CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. BOTH OCCUPANTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT ASSISTANCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA331](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA331), Apr 28, 2011: Cessna 172R (N411ES), Fort Worth, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's improper recovery from the bounced landing and the flight instructor's delayed remedial action.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
