## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE TAXING OUT OF PAINT FACILITY TO ACTIVE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A SINK HOLE THAT OPENED DURING TAXI OVER RAMP CAUSING LEFT LANDING GEAR/LEFT ENGINE/ LEFT WING/WINGLET DAMAGE. NO INJURIES TO CREW. SINK HOLE WAS MEASURED 10X10X7. UNDERWATER OR DRAINAGE HAD WASHED AWAY THE UNDERSTRUCTURE AND ONLY THE CONCRETE WAS STILL INTACT UNTIL THE WEIGHT OF THE AIRCRAFT CAUSED THE TAXIWAY RAMP TO FAIL.

Probable cause: The failure of a utility pipe beneath the ramp surface, which caused a localized void in the soil and resulting reduction in the load bearing capability of the ramp.
