## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

12/2011 AT 08:40 A LANDING AIRCRAFT REPORTED A GREEN METAL PIECE OF AN AIRCRAFT ON RWY 18L. THIS PIECE OF METAL WAS IDENTIFIED AS A PART OF THE THRUST REVERSER SYSTEM. THIS PART IS A CASCADE PANEL. THE PART WAS WHOLE AND HAD SEPARATED AT THE ATTACHMENT POINTS. IN ORDER TO LOCATE THE AFFECTED AIRCRAFT, INSPECTIONS WERE PERFORMED ON AIRCRAFT THAT LANDED BETWEEN WHEN THE LAST RUNWAY INSPECTION PERFORMED AT 07:30, AND WHEN THE REPORT CAME IN AT 08:40. AIRCRAFT THAT LANDED DURING THIS TIME FRAME WERE INSPECTED. AN INSPECTION ON AIRCRAFT N406US WHICH LANDED AT 08:36 HAD A MISSING CASCADE PANEL. A NEW CASCADE PANEL WAS INSTALLED AND A MINOR SHEET METAL REPAIR ON THE COWLING WAS PERFORMED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
