## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CLASS D AIRSPACE HAD TEMPORARILY BEEN IMPLEMENTED DUE TO THE INDIANAPOLIS AIR SHOW. THE PILOT HAD LANDED ON RUNWAY 16 AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI VIA ALPHA (A) AND ALPHA 2 (A2) TO THE APRON. THE BLUE ANGELS HAD A MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS CART SET UP ON THE NORTH SIDE OF A, APPROXIMATELY 4 FEET OFF THE EDGE OF THE TAXIWAY. IT WAS STATIONED THERE FOR THE BLUE ANGEL'S PERFORMANCE. AS THE PIC WAS TAXIING WEST ON A, ANOTHER AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 25 AND CLEARED THE RUNWAY ON A2. THE TOWER INSTRUCTED THE OTHER AIRCRAFT TO HOLD SHORT OF A. THE OTHER AIRCRAFT HAD EDGED SLIGHTLY INTO TAXIWAY A BEFORE STOPPING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EDGED HIS AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT OF CENTERLINE ON TAXIWAY A TO GIVE ROOM TO THE OTHER AIRCRAFT. HE THEN STRUCK THE COMMUNICATIONS CART APPROXIMATELY THREE FEET INBOARD OF THE RIGHT WINGTIP CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED HE SAW THE CART AS HE WAS APPROACHING A2 BUT THE OTHER AIRCRAFT GOT HIS ATTENTION AND LED TO HIM FORGETTING THE LOCATION OF THE CART.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA343](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA343), May 13, 2011: Mooney M20J (N10143), Greenfield, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate clearance from a communications cart while taxiing.

## Other reports on N10143 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19910505062909I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910505062909I), May 5, 1991: Mooney M20J (N10143), Poughkeepsie, NY. When weather deteriorated pilot landed without contacting ATC. Appropriate navigation charts not in his possession.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
