## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, EARLIER THAT MORNING, PURCHASED THIS AIRCRAFT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WANTED TO CONDUCT THREE TAKE OFF'S & LANDINGS. THE PASSENGER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (COMMERCIAL PILOT), WAS GOING ALONG TO GIVE POINTERS AS A FORMER CESSNA 140 OWNER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT ABOUT 200 FEET INTO THE TAKE OFF ROLL WHEN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK THE CONTROLS. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 32 TO THE RIGHT. THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AND THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLY BENT BACK, APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES, TOWARD THE REAR OF THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA322](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA322), May 26, 2011: Cessna 140A (N1137D), Quincy, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The private pilot's inability to maintain directional control of the airplane during the takeoff roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
