## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11FA241](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11FA241), May 29, 2011: Cessna R172K (N9831V), Cold Springs, NV, substantial damage, 3 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's continued visual flight rules flight into instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in a controlled collision with terrain.

## Other reports on N9831V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19940302007499I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19940302007499I), Mar 2, 1994: Cessna 172K (N9831V), Petaluma, CA, Minor damage. Pilot lost directional control on a touch and go landing. Veered off left side of runway.
