## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

05/28/2011 21:21Z BUTLER COUNTY/SCHOLTER FIELD KBTP, N735HL AN EXPERIMENTAL-AMATEUR BUILT KITFOX SPEEDSTER AIRCRAFT, S/N HBS 051, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AFTER EXPERIENCING A TIRE FAILURE WHILE LANDING. THE TIRE BECAME WEDGED IN THE WHEEL FAIRING CAUSING LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE SOUTH SIDE OF RUNWAY 26 AT APPROXIMATELY MID-POINT (2400' FROM THRESHOLD). DURING THE RUNWAY DEPARTURE AND LOSS OF CONTROL, THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLER AND RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR STRUCTURE WERE DAMAGED. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL WERE NOTIFIED BY 911 EMERGENCY SYSTEM AND ARRIVED AT KBTP WHILE THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PUSHING THE AIRCRAFT TO HIS PRIVATE HANGER WITH ADDITIONAL HELP. THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT AND WAS NOT INJURED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO AIRPORT FACILITIES. NOTE: THE DAILY REPORT APPLICATION 5/31/2011 INCORRECTLY DESCRIBED THE EVENT. AS IT STATES; LANDED AND RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. THE ACTUAL DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS ARE AS STATED ABOVE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
