As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 29, 2011, I RESPONDED TO AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING ST LUCIE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENTS, BELL OH58 HELICOPTER, N911SL SERIAL NO. 71. N911SL THE AIRCRAFT WAS ASSISTING SHERIFFS DEPUTIES AND THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS ON A SEARCH OF A POSSIBLE EJECTED VICTIM FROM AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11TA318](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11TA318), May 29, 2011: Bell OH-58A (N911SL), Ft. Pierce, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to recognize and avoid a loss of tail rotor effectiveness, which resulted in a loss of control and hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
