## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DEPARTED KINGSTON NY AT APPROX 1330 HRS LOCAL, APPROX 10 MILES EAST OF DANBURY AIRPORT, DXR, PILOT HEARD A FAINT NOISE AND THEN A VIBRATION BEGAN, THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY ON A LONG DRIVEWAY IN A VERY LARGE FIELD AND SHUT HELICOPTER DOWN. INSPECTION AFTER LANDING IDENTIFIED THE T/R TEETER HINGE BOLT HAD BROKEN IN TWO. THE HEAD AND NUT OF THE BOLT TURNED INDEPENDENTLY BUT REMAINED INSTALLED IN THE TAIL ROTOR ASSEMBLY

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11IA320](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11IA320), May 29, 2011: Robinson Helicopter R22 Mariner (N8313E), Redding, CT, incident, no damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate helicopter preflight inspection and the mechanic’s inadequate annual inspection, both of which failed to detect a worn bolt in the tail rotor teeter hinge prior to its fracture…

## Other reports on N8313E (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20060311023679I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20060311023679I), Mar 11, 2006: Robsin R22MARINER (N8313E), Cresskill, NJ. (-23) PIC landed on a public street to discharge a passenger.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
