## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS PERFORMING LOW LEVEL AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS DRYING CHERRY TREES. HEAVY VIBRATION OCCURRED AND PILOT INITIATED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WHEN THE HELICOPTER YAWED TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY APPLIED RIGHT PEDAL AND ENTERED A SHORT AUTOROTATION THROUGH THE TREES AND HIT THE GROUND HARD IN A LEVEL POSITION. HELICOPTER DESTROYED. PILOT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES AND WALKED AWAY FROM WRECKAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11LA244](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11LA244), Jun 1, 2011: Hiller UH-12E (N68012), Stockton, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from obstacles.

## Other reports on N68012 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19870620020989A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870620020989A), Jun 20, 1987: Hiller UH12E (N68012), Ray, ND, Substantial damage. The helicopter hit a wire during takeoff. The wire and poles were hidden by trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
