## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED ON JUNE 4, 2011 AT ELLSWORTH, AFB. PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, FLEW N83318, A CHAMP FROM ELLSWORTH AFB TO SPEARFISH, SD. THE PILOT WAS TAXIING OUT FOR TAKEOFF, AT APPROXIMATELY 1620, WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED A WIND GUST. A WIND GUST CAUSED THE TAIL TO COME UP AND THE PROP TO STRIKE THE RAMP. AFTER THE TAIL CAME BACK DOWN THE PILOT CONTINUED HIS TAXI AND TOOK OFF FOR SPEARFISH. THE WEATHER WAS VFR AND NO FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE PILOT HOLDS A PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
