## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 11, 2011, AT APPROXIMATELY 14:20 CDT N8743Y, A PIPER PA-30, WAS PERFORMING A HIGH SPEED MAINTENANCE TAXI AT MOORE COUNTY AIRPORT IN DUMAS, TEXAS. A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE LEFT WING, CAUSING THE THE AIRCRAFT TO EXIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY 19. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AND SPUN 90 DEGREES. THE WIND DIRECTION WAS REPORTED OF 170 DEGREES AT 13 KNOTS, GUSTING TO 28 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT OWNER WAS AT THE CONTROLS AND WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A CURRENTLY RATED AIRFRAME AND POWPERPLANT MECHANIC. THEY WERE ATTEMPTING TO TROUBLESHOOT AN ENGINE DISCREPANCY REPORTED EARLIER THAT AFTERNOON. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH AILERONS, WINGS, ENGINE PROPELLERS, MAIN LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLIES, AND LOWER FUSELAGE. THE PILOT AND MECHANIC WERE UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
