## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

-PER A CONVERSATION WITH THE PILOT-THE PILOT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A SHIMMY IN THE NOSE GEAR AND WAS DELIBERATELY APPROACHING TO LAND AT AN AIRSPEED THAT WAS SLOWER THAN HE USUALLY USED. IN THE FLARE, THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDED TO THE GROUND MORE ABRUPTLY THAN HE EXPECTED, IMPACTED HARD ON THE MAIN WHEELS AND THE NOSE WHEEL STRUCK THE RUNWAY HARD. THE NOSE WHEEL, THEN, COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ALONG THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
