## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT RICKENBAKER INTERNATINAL (LCK) N526PG WAS CLEARED TO TAKE OFF FROM 23R AND GIVEN LEFT TURN ON COURSE. THE CEILING THAT DAY WAS 500 FT. AS THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED THE CLOUDS IT WAS IN A LEFT TURN. SOON AFTER ENTERING THE CLOUDS THE TOWER CONTROLLER CLEARED HIM TO CONTACT DEPARTURE. THE PILOT DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS TRANSMISSION. THE NEXT THING THE CONTROLLER NOTICED WAS SMOKE IN A FIELD TO THE SOUTH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11FA401](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11FA401), Jun 19, 2011: Cirrus Design SR22 (N526PG), Columbus, OH, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's spatial disorientation during the takeoff into instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in his failure to maintain control of the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
