## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 30, 2011, AT APPROXIMATELY 1840, PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ATTEMPTED TAKE OFF FROM THE WATERS OF KEUKA LAKE NEAR HAMMONDSPORT, NY, IN A CURTIS A-1 TRAID AND OVER-ROTATED THE AIRCRAFT. IN AN ATTEMPT TO RECOVER THE PILOT STRUCK THE WATER IN A SLIGHT RIGHT WING LOW AND SLIGHT RIGHT DRIFT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP AND RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE WEATHER WAS GOOD AND THE LAKE WAS CALM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
