## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS AWARE THAT THERE WERE GUSTY CONDITIONS AS HE MADE AN APPROACH AND LANDING AT STEHEKIN STATE AIRPORT. AS HE ROLLED OUT, HE MADE A CORRECTION TO THE LEFT AND THE AIRCRAFT THEN STOPPED. IN HIS STATEMENT HE SAYS HE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, TOO. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED AND THE TAIL SLOWLY RAISED UP UNTIL THE PROP HIT THE GROUND, THEN FELL BACK ON TO THE TAILWHEEL BENDING THE SPRING. HIS VERBAL TESTIMONY ADDED THAT HE MADE THE CORRECTION DUE TO A GUST OF WIND FROM THE REAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
