As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAD AN INFLIGHT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND WAS LOSING HIS TRANSPONDER. HE WAS DIRECTED TO CUMBERLAND AIRPORT BY ATC. HE WAS USING A HAND HELD GPS TO FIND THE AIRPORT. HE PUT THE GEAR DOWN WHEN IN THE PATTERN. HE APPARENTLY DID NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THE GEAR WAS FULLY DOWN. HE MAY NOT HAVE CHECKED THE LIGHTS. THE GEAR DID NOT COME COMPLETELY DOWN AND LOCK DUE TO LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. DURING THE ROLL OUT THE GEAR FOLDED BACK INTO THE WELLS.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19781029027699I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19781029027699I), Oct 29, 1978: Piper PA28R200 (N5046S), Freeman, SD, Minor damage. Pilot overshot during landing on a farm strip. Damaged a wing on a telephone pole.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
