## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PIC WAS REPOSITIONING THE AIRCRAFT TO WELSH, LA, WITH A PASSENGER ON BOARD. HAD JUST COMPLETED SLOW FLIGHT MANEUVER AT 2000 FEET AND UPON ADVANCING THROTTLE, THE ENGINE REMAINED AT IDLE. MOMENTARILY ADVANCED THROTTLE TO A HIGHER POWER SETTING BUT NO INCREASE IN POWER, THEN RETURNED THE THROTTLE TO IDLE. SELECTED ROAD ON WHICH TO LAND BUT DISCOVERED TELEPHONE WIRES ACROSS ROAD. SELECTED SECOND SITE PERPENDICULAR TO INTERSTATE I-10. PILOT FEARED HE WOULD BE UNABLE TO STOP PRIOR TO REACHING I-10 SO HE DRIFTED OVER A CANE FIELD NEXT TO THE ROAD, IMPACTING THE CANE ROWS AND FLIPPING OVER. AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED AND NO INJURIES REPORTED. PILOT OUT OF A BIENNIAL FLIGHT REVIEW AND AIRCRAFT LOW ON FUEL FOR LENGTH OF FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11LA472](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11LA472), Jul 9, 2011: Cessna 150J (N50575), Lacassine, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion, as a result of the pilot's improper fuel planning.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
