## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN LANDED AIRCRAFT AT PRIVATE RESIDENCE AIRSTRIP IN CROSSWIND CONDITIONS. JUST AFTER TOUCHDOWN, AIRMAN STATED THE WIND SHIFTED TO A QUARTERING TO NEAR FULL TAILWIND, SUCH THAT IT HE SAID IT "LIFTED THE TAIL" AND WAS PUSHING THE AIRCRAFT. SUBSEQUENT OUTCOME IS THAT THE AIRMAN WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE REACHING THE END OF THE PRIVATE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WENT DOWN A STEEP HILL INTO A RAVINE, RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.AIRMAN WANTED TO BE CLEAR THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRCRAFT THAT LED TO THIS ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11CA326](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11CA326), Jul 11, 2011: Maule M-7-235C (N6YM), Tonasket, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to achieve the proper touchdown point, which resulted in a landing overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
