## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HOLDER OF PILOT CERTIFICATE NUNBER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE PILOT OF N601FD A 95-B55 BARON. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE TOUCH DOWN NEAR THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY. HE ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS STANDING WATER ON THE RUNWAY AND THAT A RAIN SHOWER HAD JUST PASSED THROUGH THE AREA. THE AIRCRAFT REACTED AS IF IT WAS ON ICE (SLIPPING AND SLIDING). NEAR THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY THE PILOT REALIZED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO STOP ON THE RUNWAY. THE SOUTH END OF THE COLVILLE AIRPORT DROPS OFF SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET. THE PILOT GROUND LOOPED THE AIRCRAFT INSTEAD OF GOING DOWN THAT STEEP GRADE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11CA343](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11CA343), Jul 19, 2011: Beech 95-B55 (T42A) (N601FD), Colville, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate braking after touchdown, which resulted in a runway excursion.

## Other reports on N601FD (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19780621046999I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19780621046999I), Jun 21, 1978: Beech 9555 (N601FD), Marion, IN. Engine ran rough and loss power due to internal failure of undetermined cause. Engine siezed after touchdown.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
