## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT LOST ENGINE POWER AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 FEET MSL. THE PILOT TURNED ON AUXILLARY FUEL AND THE IGNITERS. THE PROCEDURES HAD NO EFFECT, SO THE PILOT ATTEMPTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING TOUCHING DOWN ON A HEADING OF 270 DEGREES. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR, TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 200 YARDS BEFORE THE RIGHT WING TIP CONTACTED A ROW OF BUSHES RUNNING NORTH TO SOUTH, STANDING 6 TO 8 FEET HIGH. THE AIRCRAFT SPUN TO THE RIGHT CAUSING THE NOSE TO IMPACT THE GROUND AND THE PROPELLER ASSEMBLY TO DEPART THE AIRCRAFT. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING AND LEFT MAIN GEAR ENSUED. THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY CAME TO REST ON A 060 DEGREE HEADING APPROXIMATELY 40 YARDS FROM THE BUSHES AND 250 YARDS FROM THE INTIAL TOUCH DOWN POINT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11LA544](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11LA544), Jul 22, 2011: Air Tractor AT802 (N396LA), Ullin, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined because postaccident examination of the engine did not reveal any anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
