## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/23/2011 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:45 A BELL HELICOPTER MODEL 206B HIT A POWER-LINE WHILE PERFORMING A LOW LEVEL FILM FLIGHT OVER OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY 70, AT RANDLETT, OKLAHOMA. THE HELICOPTER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, IT APPEARED THAT AFTER THE HELICOPTER STRUCK THE POWER LINE THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND MANEUVERED THE HELICOPTER INTO A DITCH WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 643 FEET FROM THE STRUCK POWER-LINE. THERE WERE TWO PASSENGERS ONBOARD, NO INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA509](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA509), Jul 23, 2011: Bell 206B (N118TV), Temple, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from static power lines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
