## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ON A VISUAL APPROACH/DOWNWIND TO THE NORTHERLY RUNWAY AT LOUCKS PRIVATE AIRPORT IN HAMMONDSPORT, NY, THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE PILOT THOUGHT HE HAD A FULL ENGINE FAILURE AND WAS UABLE TO MAKE THE AIRPORT AND WAS FORCED TO LAND IN A FIELD. UPON LANDING, THE LEFT WING TIP HIT THE GROUND, TURNING THE AIRPLANE TO THE LEFT APPROXIMATELY 60 DEGREES. THE LEFT LANDING GEAR WAS RIPPED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THE LEFT AILERON WAS TORN OFF THE AIRCRAFT. THE -BLADED PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND HIS PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. AFTER TAKING THE ENGINE COWL OFF IT WAS NOTED THAT THE THROTTLE CABLE WAS FRAYED APART AND DISCONNECTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
